I bought this treadmill not knowing if I was making the right choice but I am very very happy with it so far. I have been using the weight loss program for a month every day and it gives me a great workout in 30 minutes. I love that I don’t have to leave my home to go get my excerise. I had to put it on the second floor of my home which was a challenge but my husband and I got it moved with a little grunting. Once it was up there I have no probelm moving it around and it is very compact. Now I just hope it lasts me with no problems as I plan on using it daily. It could be interesting to get it repired if I need to. Any advice if future repairs are needed?

No complaints: This treadmill is well built, and sturdy on a level surface. Easy to use, unlike some of the other comments you read, probably from folks who use those GIGANTIC machines in gyms. The great thing about this Horizon treadmill is that it doesn’t have large acoutrements hanging out all over the place to impede your ingress or egress to/from the tread. It’s also a good looking machine in its overall light coloration, unlike those behemoths in dreadful blacks and charcoals.
At 100 pounds and compact profile folded, it’s easy to move and store. Don’t be fooled into believing you can’t get a quality workout because it’s compact. It’s walking, DU-uhhh.
Sure, 5 to 6 hundred is more than some other, bigger treadmills, but the extra cost is worth the convenience without suffering loss of quality.
If running is your thing, go outside, or to the gym. BUT, you can get a good, FAST walk with this’n. Buy it.

Update 6/3/2009
so it is what 18 days later? After a few phone calls and coordination on my part, including needing to be home for the repair guy, the company sent a tech out to fix it. Now the company says it can not be fixed but must be replaced.
I feel like they really knew in the beginning that it would need to be replaced (I had the sense they have had this problem before), so I’m contiuing my low rating pending resolution.
The nice thing is the replacement sounds easy-peasy. Amazon will ship a replacement and the delivery company will pick up the broken treadmill as is. I don’t have to worry about boxing it up and sending it back. So that is great!
will update the review when I get delivery of the replacement.

end update
————————————–
Arrived yesterday and we unpacked it and set it up today, a Saturday.
1 of 2 things happens:
1. The belt stops moving completely after 10 seconds.
or
2. The belt moves EXTREMELY FAST, so fast that I don’t dare get on it and so fast that I am afraid it will break. Even though the speed is set at 1 mph.
I have an email in to customer support, but it looks like there may not be customer support on the weekend. frustrating.
Definately NOT “just unfold and go”.
Will update my review if/when customer support responds.

To make a long story short, before you use the treadmill you have to loosen up the belt (undoing any factory calibration in the process), lube the running deck, and then re-tighten the belt and somehow get it working correctly again.
I was unable to do the “get it working again” part. The documentation included with the treadmill is inadequate and confusing. To top it off, customer support is difficult to reach. It took several days for Horizon to return my call, and that person couldn’t help me. Another several days have passed and I’m still waiting for a call back from somebody who can do more than refer me to the videos on the company website.
I’m still hoping for a positive resolution to this problem, but the longer the treadmill remains unusable the worse I feel about my purchase.

We have used this treadmill every single day since its purchase 9 months ago. It is shared by 2 humans and a dog (not sure how the dog fits into the warranty), and it has held up strong. It is the quietest treadmill I have ever used. It arrived within days of ordering and was easy to set-up and easy to use. If you plan to keep your treadmill propped against the wall as we do, be aware that it will stick out slightly further than the 10″, due to its safety bars on both sides. It is truely so easy to get out and set up every day, there is literaly no excuse for not using it. For those who like to run fast or have a long stride, be aware that the running space is very short and narrow. I believe that is the reason why the manufacturers made the top speed be only 6.0; any faster would be unsafe. We have never gone above a 4.5 and have had no safety issues due to belt size. I shopped around a long time before deciding to make this purchase. I believe the price is appropriate, as they did not skimp on quality in order to make an apartment-sized treadmill. If you have little space and are looking for quality in your purchase, consider this treadmill. I do wish it had an incline. Otherwise, I am totally happy with this purchase.
